FMDQ Group has named Muhammad Sani Abdullahi, the Deputy Governor of the Economic Policy Directorate at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), as the new Chairman of its board. Abdullahi brings extensive experience in economic policy and development to his new role, effective April 26, 2024, succeeding Dr. Kingsley Obiora.

Abdullahi’s career spans the banking sector and public service, including roles in the Government of Kaduna State and advisory positions at the World Bank and the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary General in New York. He expressed dedication to maintaining and enhancing FMDQ’s legacy, aligning it with the evolving demands of the financial landscape.
