The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to return recovered funds to its coffers.
NDIC Managing Director, Bello Hassan, emphasized the importance of collaboration in recovering depositors’ funds lost due to bank failures and ensuring timely payment of liquidation dividends.
During a meeting with EFCC Executive Chairman Ola Olukoyede in Abuja, Hassan highlighted the need for EFCC’s cooperation to facilitate the reimbursement of depositors. He commended EFCC’s efforts in combating corruption and financial crimes, acknowledging its vital role in implementing the Failed Banks Act as a member of the Taskforce chaired by NDIC.
