The Senate has approved a bill put forward by Senator Yemi Adaramodu (APC, Ekiti) to establish the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Trust Fund.
This initiative aims to create a sustainable source of funding for various NYSC activities, including skill acquisition, training, and empowerment of corps members, as well as the development of camps and facilities.
Senator Adaramodu emphasized the importance of ensuring that the NYSC Trust Fund is not susceptible to abuse like other existing social intervention programs. He believes that once signed into law, this fund will play a crucial role in supporting the NYSC’s objectives and enhancing the experiences of corps members.
