The House of Representatives has approved a bill aimed at increasing salaries and allowances for judicial office holders in Nigeria. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu submitted the bill to the House for consideration and passage, which was then passed on Wednesday.
Under the approved bill, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) is set to receive a total monthly package of N5,385,047.26. Additionally, other Justices of the Supreme Court will earn a total package of N4,213,192.54, while the President of the Court of Appeal will receive N4,478,415.78 per month.
The monthly package includes basic salaries and various allowances, such as motor vehicle fuelling and maintenance, among others.
