South Korea’s Yoon warns of tech threat to democracy at summit

Speaking at the Summit for Democracy, which gathered senior officials from various countries including Britain, the EU, and the United States, President Yoon emphasized the importance of utilizing technology to bolster democratic principles. He stressed the need for countries to collaborate and share insights to harness artificial intelligence and technology in advancing democracy while addressing the challenge of technological disparities among nations.

Yhe Summit for Democracy, hosted by South Korea, is part of U.S. President Joe Biden’s initiative to combat democratic regression and uphold rights and freedoms worldwide. The conference’s agenda focuses on addressing digital threats to democracy and exploring how technology can uphold democratic values and universal human rights throughout the three-day event.
