President Tinubu Orders Return of Seized Food Items to Owners

President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to return food items seized at various border communities to their rightful owners, with the condition that the items must be sold in Nigerian markets.

The directive was disclosed by the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, during a meeting with border communities in Katsina.

Adeniyi stated that President Tinubu’s decision reflects his deep sense of generosity towards Nigeria, emphasizing that it is not based on legal guidelines but on goodwill. He emphasized that the food items seized at the borders would be returned to their owners under the condition that they are sold within Nigerian markets.The Customs Service will closely monitor compliance with this directive to ensure that the food items are indeed sold within Nigerian markets as stipulated.
