The Federal Government is poised to carry out a mass retirement of Senior Officers within the Nigeria Immigration Service, barring any last-minute alterations to its plans.
The affected Senior Officers are peers and subordinates of the incoming Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap. Scheduled to assume office on March 1, 2024, Nandap succeeds her predecessor, Caroline Wuraola Adepoju, whose tenure concludes on February 29, 2024.
However, both appointments seemingly contravene the provisions outlined in the Unified Conditions of Service for Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Immigration, and Nigerian Prison Services, 2019.
These paramilitary services fall under the purview of the Ministry of Interior.
