First City Monument Bank (FCMB) confirmed a fire incident on Monday, February 26, on the 7th floor of its office located at Macarthy Street, Lagos Island.
The incident was reported to have occurred around 6:10 pm.
In a statement released by the Group Head Corporate Affairs of FCMB, Diran Olojo, the bank expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Fire Service for their prompt response in containing the fire. All FCMB employees were safely evacuated, and fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, as stated by FCMB. While the bank reassures the public of the safety of its employees, it remains committed to determining the root cause of the incident and taking necessary measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
