Samira Jibril, the president of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), expressed concern over the burden of multiple taxes imposed on private schools by the federal government.
She highlighted this issue during the association’s national election, where she was elected as the president for 2024.
Jibril emphasized the significant role private schools play in complementing the government’s efforts in providing education to Nigerian children. She noted that the excessive taxes imposed on private schools were hindering their ability to effectively fulfil this crucial role.
Calling for a review of the government’s tax policies, Jibril urged authorities to consider providing relief measures to alleviate the financial burden on private schools.
