John Dramani Mahama, the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), unveiled his plan for a 24-hour economy initiative aimed at facilitating businesses to operate three shifts per day.
Mahama emphasized collaboration between the government and the private sector to achieve this objective, emphasizing its potential to create new job opportunities, especially for young people, and improve living standards across Ghana. In a social media announcement, Mahama outlined his government’s commitment to enacting new legislation, including labor laws and tax incentives, to support businesses operating on a 24/7 basis.
He pledged to implement favorable tax policies, stimulus packages, and financial assistance, particularly targeting industries such as agro-processing and manufacturing, to facilitate the transition to round-the-clock operations.
