Tragedy struck as a helicopter carrying Herbert Wigwe, the Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, crashed in California, United States of America, claiming his life and the lives of approximately five others.
The chopper, reportedly en route to Las Vegas, crashed near the border city between Nevada and California on Friday night. Reports from various sources, including TheWill News and Daily Mail, confirmed the fatal incident, marking California’s second helicopter crash resulting in fatalities within a week.
The crash occurred near Nipton on the edge of the Mojave Desert, involving a Eurocopter EC 130 with six individuals on board. Authorities in San Bernardino County confirmed the crash, stating that they were alerted to the downed aircraft near Baker shortly after 10 pm on Friday.
Despite efforts, no survivors have been located, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the community and serves as a somber reminder of the risks associated with air travel.
