The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revived high-profile corruption cases involving former governors and ministers.

The renewed investigations span alleged misappropriation of billions of naira and millions of dollars, covering a range of scandals from arms procurement to the diversion of public funds. The estimated total sum under scrutiny exceeds N853.8 billion, underscoring the magnitude of the alleged corruption.

Prominent figures under investigation include former governors such as Kayode Fayemi, Ayo Fayose, Bello Matawalle, Sullivan Chime, Abdullahi Adamu, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Peter Odili, Theodore Orji, Danjuma Goje, Aliyu Wamako, Timipre Sylva, and Sule Lamido. Former ministers, including Olu Agunloye and Sadiya Umar-Farouk, are also part of the renewed investigations.
