Only Kenya, which was rated 35th internationally, was ahead of Nigeria, which was placed 50th globally for internet dangers. The third-place finisher was South Africa, which was ranked 82nd internationally.

These nations have become focus locations for cyberthreats, according to Kaspersky Security Network. According to the research, backdoor and spyware attacks—which totaled 106,000 attack attempts—were the most frequent threat kinds in South Africa in the first quarter of 2023. It totaled 46,000 in Nigeria and 143,000 in Kenya.
