The concessionaire, Messrs Barnksforte Technologies Limited, has informed the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) that N5.3 billion in private funds will be invested into the Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System (eCRVS).
The National Population Commission is the grantor of the project, which aims to record and confirm births and deaths in Nigeria and offer end users on the platform certificate attestation and verification services.
At the conclusion of the 15-year concession period, the private party will design, finance, build, operate, and transfer the project to the government.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved the formation of an Aviation Leasing Company (ALC) as part of a Public Private Partnership (PPP) in an effort to stimulate the economy, the Commission also revealed.
The project will create employment opportunities for Nigerians which will have a multiplier effect on the economy.
