The 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Refinery, the largest single-train refinery in the world, is scheduled for inauguration by President Muhammadu Buhari on May 22nd, 2023, according to the tweet. This will help the federal government’s efforts to make Nigeria self-sufficient in local crude oil refining and save the limited foreign exchange used to import petroleum products.
In the Lekki free trade zone of Lagos state, there is a 650,000 barrels per day (BPD) integrated refinery project called the Dangote Refinery. The integrated petrochemical and refinery project is expected to generate 9,500 direct and 25,000 indirect jobs.
