MultiChoice Nigeria announced an increase of 17% in the cost of its DStv and GOtv packages. The new charges will be effective on May 1, 2023, as stated in a text message issued to customers. The pay-TV company claimed that the price change was necessary due to the increased costs of conducting business.
The Compact+ bouquet would cost N16,600 instead of N14,250 per month after the increase. MultiChoice Nigeria nevertheless offered a price lock to customers who renewed their subscriptions before to the required dates, notwithstanding the pricing rises.
Customers can pay the previous rates for 12 months if they pay monthly before the expiration of the deal, which is meant to mitigate the impact of the price review.
