According to the Federal Government, it is attempting to do away with different road taxes in order to encourage the free flow of products across the nation. Multiple road taxes, according to the administration, are prohibited by ECOWAS laws and regulations.
The National President of RTEAN, Dr. Musa Maitakobi, was returned re-elected for a second term during the 10th national delegates conference of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria in Abuja, where the Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo, spoke.
The Corps Public Education Officer of the FRSC, Bisi Kazeem, spoke on behalf of the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Daudu Biu, who blamed nighttime driving for the rise in traffic accidents.
According to him, overspeeding, weariness, and poor visibility are the main causes of nighttime traffic accidents. Maitakobi advised participants to welcome change and embrace innovation.
