$800m W’Bank Support: NECA Requests that Repairing Refineries Be Given Priority Over Sharing Palliatives.
The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) has urged the federal government to fix the nation’s paralyzed refineries before sharing $800 million in World Bank funding to remove the gasoline subsidy from 10 million people, each receiving N36,000.
The group emphasized that the government’s ability to help Nigerians the most by repairing the nation’s refineries. The NECA executive went on to say: “We’d want to stress once more that the government needs to repair all of the refineries”.
