The price of natural gas was trading up to $2.191 (+1.81%), however prices are falling week over week.
The price of natural gas began last week at $2.365 per mmBtu, but since early March, prices have been declining weekly. Last week was the third consecutive week of price drops.
The cost of natural gas is a fraction of what it was in August of last year, when it was trading at about $10 per mmBtu.
According to the EIA’s most recent Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report for the week ending March 17, working gas levels in storage in the United States are high—36.1% higher than year-ago levels and 22.7% higher than the five-year average.
