The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja has malfunctioning facilities that need to be fixed, according to a request from the House of Representatives to the Federal Government through its appropriate agencies.
The House specifically requested the administration to urgently fix the escalators and lifts at the airports across the nation and to provide more airside buses and conveying belts during the session.
The House also ordered the Committee on Aviation to monitor adherence to the resolution and provide a report for additional legislative action within a month.
The Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos is the country’s busiest airport, followed by NAIA in terms of flights and passengers, according to data from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
Onofiok Luke, a member of the House, had proposed an urgent motion.
