NEXIM, Navy, and NIWA Unveil River Navigation Charts, Providing a Boost to the $61.5M Sealink Project
The release of navigational charts for the lower River Niger has boosted the $61.5 million regional Sealink project being promoted by the Nigerian Export-Import (NEXIM) Bank in partnership with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission.
In order to ease commerce, the project aims to build and run a marine shipping firm that will link West African coastal ports and areas of Central Africa to the West African region.
The project will cost $60 million in equipment and operating capital, and $1.5 million will go toward running a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for spreading the idea across the participating nations.
