The Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives has been awarded to Mr. Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The announcement was made on Sunday at the Collation Center of the Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School in Marwa, Lekki 1. Prof Funmilayo Odukoya, the INEC Returning Officer.
With 24,075 votes, Attah defeated PDP candidate Mr. Olubankole Wellington (Banky W), who received 18,666 votes, and APC candidate Mr. Babajide Obanikoro, who received 16,901 votes.
Before the presiding officer announced the results, there was chaos between the party agents and INEC officers regarding the validity of the outcome.
The representatives including APC and PDP refused to accept the announcement of results unless their complaints were addressed.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, the PDP agent, Mr Aderemi Adeshina, claimed that some voters were disenfranchised in some polling units in the LGA.Adeshina also claimed that results recorded in some units after the elections were not transmitted through the BVAS machine.
