At the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture’s first Digital Economy Conference, which was hosted at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry complex, Buhari made this announcement.

Speaking via Isah Patami, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, the President declared that statistics showing that just 43% of the population had access to broadband were inaccurate.

He added that from 23% coverage in 2019 to 100% coverage in 2023, the Federal Government has expanded internet penetration by 77%.

“Broadband is currently available everywhere in the nation, whether it be in a metropolitan region, a rural area, or a desert.

We are the first nation in Africa to achieve this status and the only one thus far “said the President.
