The 2022 mini-bid round has officially begun, according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.
Komolafe noted in the statement that the mini-bid round, which offered seven blocks, was a chance to launch fresh exploration and drilling operations in Nigeria’s deep waters.
The mini-bid round, according to Komolafe, is a market-driven program that will adhere to a transparent and competitive procurement process in order to draw qualified third-party investors from all over the world.
The seven blocks are said to be in the Gulf of Guinea, off the coast of Nigeria, about 150 km southeast of Lagos Port, with water depths ranging from 1000 meters to 2000 meters, according to the NUPRC.
The deep-water Niger Delta Basin is where Blocks PPL-303-DO, PPL-304-DO, PPL-305-DO, and PPL-306-DO are located.
