The budget was N5 billion more than the N238 billion budget request made to the state House of Assembly for review. Recurrent expenses are more than N91 billion, while capital expenditures were over N152 billion.

According to the sector breakdown, administration received more than N9 billion, economy received more than N102 billion, law and justice received more than N1 billion, and social services ate up more than N38 billion. Despite the lack of resources, Bello expressed confidence that the budget will benefit the people.

He stated that since this was his final budget, the new administration might make some modifications. The governor, however, expressed optimism that the 2023 budget if implemented up to 90 per cent, would bring about a better Niger State. He commended the legislature for their continued support to the executive arm, pro-activeness and tireless work, to ensure the passage of the 2023 bill.

Bello appreciated the leadership and members of the state Budget and Planning Commission as well as ministries, departments and agencies for their contributions in ensuring the budget was passed.
