Following the presentation by the Committee on Communications, the Senate passed the Nigerian Communications Commission’s 2023 budget during a plenary session.
According to Ibrahim Bomai, the member for Yobe South, who lay and submitted the reports, the NCC 2023 budget of N559. 080 billion consisted of N86 billion in total recurrent expenses. The commission is anticipated to send N416 billion from the anticipated revenue to the CRF.
The Senate also approved the N16 billion budget for the Universal Service Provision Fund for 2023. Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Communications Commission, Professor Umar Dambatta, had proposed a budget of N559 billion for the fiscal year 2023 at the committee budget defence before the joint National Assembly.
