A consultant’s attempt to recover Sh1.4 billion from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) for a bungled deal to build a medical center of excellence was denied by the Court of Appeal.
Baseline Architects Ltd.’s intended appeal, according to a three-judge panel, did not meet the requirements to move forward.
The business claimed that NHIF had hired it to provide architectural and management consulting services for the creation of a medical center of excellence.
Deal collapsed, and company sued NHIF for Sh1.8 billion in compensation for provided professional services. After hearing the case, an arbitrator ordered NHIF to pay the consultant Sh1.48 billion.
