Tanzania has been rated as one of the best investment locations in Africa due to its robust regulatory environment, sound macroeconomic fundamentals, and thriving financial market.
This is in accordance with the Absa Africa Financial Markets Index 2022, an annual report that highlights the nations with the best market-friendly environments.
Tanzania’s macroeconomic opportunity increased by 11 points to an index of 76 out of 100 in 2022 from an earlier reading of 65 due to expectations that it will have one of the region’s fastest growing economies.
With a 75 index, up from 66 last year, the nation is also doing well in the market transparency, tax, and regulatory environment pillar, demonstrating good financial stability and transparency. The Absa index covers 26 countries in the African region, with Tanzania ranked at number 11, same as last year.
