Chief executive officer of American Business Council (ABC) Margaret Olele has said the data protection bill before the National Assembly will foster innovations and energize Nigeria’s economic growth if it is eventually passed into law, with a potential to create a fertile environment for innovation to thrive.
According to her, cross-border data flows allow for safer, more effective logistics and tracking while reducing manufacturing costs and waste.
The ABC CEO is confident that lawmakers will recognize the many advantages the bill holds for data flows, the investment climate, and economic advancement, in line with the country’s inclusive economic drive.
To ensure the secure transfer of electronic, personal data across borders, cross-border data protection laws have been created across the globe.
