The House of Representatives has authorized the payment of a variety of sums totaling N308. 458 billion to 194 companies that submitted claims under the Federal Government’s promissory notes program.
The Organized Private Sector Exporters Association had pleaded with the National Assembly in June to swiftly approve the Federal Government’s approval of the N375 billion for the backlog of Export Expansion Grants for Exporters.
The committee, however, recommended that the House “step down the release of the total sum of N60,635,088,940. 63 only outstanding to 34 companies due to inability of the affected companies to provide the necessary documentation to validate their claims.
