The government’s commitment to meeting its net-zero emission targets by 2060 has been reaffirmed by Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva.
According to a statement from the ministry signed by its Director of Information, Enefaa Bob-Manuel, the minister made this statement during his remarks at the 7th National Council of Hydrocarbons meeting that took place in Minna, Niger State.
In Sylva’s address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Gabriel Aduda, stated that Nigeria had started taking “mitigation and adaptation” of proactive measures in order to meet its net-zero emission targets by 2060 as a sign of its commitment.
He claimed that this cooperation would hasten the adaptation of preventative measures and mitigation strategies in order to meet the goals.
