To encourage investment in Nigeria’s capital market, the Institute of Capital Market Registrars has called for proper identity management. This was stated in a statement released in Lagos by Mr. Oluseyi Owoturo, the Institute’s President and Chairman of the Council.
According to Owoturo, accurate identification of current investors is required to prevent identity theft and increase investor confidence in the capital market.
He said that the upcoming ICMR 2022 annual conference would focus heavily on issues relating to proper identification.
The conference, whose theme is “Sustainability of the Nigerian Capital Market as a Catalyst for Economic Growth and Prosperity,” will take place in Lagos on December 10, 2022, according to Owoturo.
