Investors, PowerChina, Swiber Africa set up $500m Agro-industrial Park in Abia State.

An agro-industrial park has been established in Abia State by PowerChina and Swiber Africa to promote industrialization and increase foreign exchange profits.

The project, which is expected to cost over $500 million, aims to provide 20,000 direct employment and hundreds of indirect jobs.

Communities in Bende Local Government Area, including Ugwuoke, Alayi, Abiriba, Ozu Item, and Ohafia, would be traversed by the project. “For the government and other stakeholders, it will generate thousands of jobs and dollars.

“The goal of this project is to create an agricultural industrial zone that will have facilities for growing crops and processing cashew, cassava, and other agricultural goods.
