Nigeria’s first deep sea port was turned over to the government by China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) after the enormous marine project in Lagos, the nation’s commercial center, was finished.

The Lekki Deep Sea Port, built by the CHEC, is the biggest seaport in Nigeria and one of the biggest in West Africa. The port, which is expected to accommodate 1.2 million standard containers yearly, started construction in June 2020.

Lekki port, a commercial undertaking of trilateral collaboration between China, France, and Nigeria, is crucial for advancing Belt and Road cooperation in Africa, according to the ambassador.

Lekki port and the Lekki Free Trade Zone, according to China’s ambassador to Nigeria Cui Jianchun, might collaborate to boost economy.
