The plan to increase grid capacity by the Transmission Company of Nigeria is 90% finished, according to the Nigerian government.
This information was provided by the Minister of Power, Mr. Abubakar Aliyu, during a inspection of the TCN-led “Abuja Ring Projectwheeling capacity project.
The Minister said that there are six projects of a similar nature around the country, and they should all be completed by the end of the year.
The six projects, according to Abubakar Aliyu, would consist of lines and substations and, when finished, will expand TCN’s wheeling capacity by more than 1000 Megawatts (MW).
“The project is approximately six, and they plan to finish it by November or December. They are about 90% finished.
