The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has taken a strategic step toward ending Nigeria’s unemployment; by training and empowering 1,850 Nigerians on an agro-entrepreneurship business across all of the states of the federation.
The NDE director further stated that the two-phased agro-preneurship training and empowerment exercise was throughout the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He pointed out that the federal government has made several measures, including the empowerment program; to address the problem of unemployment, particularly among young people and women.
50 persons were recruited for the exercise, primarily women and young people. According to the statement, the Directorate’s Head of the Rural Employment Promotion Program, Edem Duke, stated that goat production in Nigeria remained a financially viable business venture; due to its value chain and high commercial production value, which have significant employment potential.
