Dangote Cement announced the commencement of its “DangCi rcular” circular economy initiative.
The new effort seeks to encourage the recycling and reuse of society’s limited resources; to reduce waste disposal and produce money that can be to promote environmental sustainability.
According to a statement by the cement firm, DangCircular was launch this year during Dangote Sustainability Week; with a focus on students at Nigerian higher education institutions.
In a competition known as the “Yaba Green Challenge,” the corporation collaborated with the Yaba College of Technology in Lagos and the UNESCO-UNEVOC (UNESCO International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training).
Following the screening of more than 30 entries, executives and volunteers from Dangote visited the competition’s finals to see the presentation of 10 sustainability solutions the kids made from rubbish.
