State budgets for Lagos, Delta, and Cross River totalling N2.58 trillion were presented. In Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented the 2023 Appropriation Bill to the House of Assembly. The governor presented a budget estimate of N1.692 trillion tagged, ‘Budget of Continuity’. Meanwhile, the Cross River State governor Ben Ayade’s made a 330 billion budget proposal for the 2023 fiscal year.
According to Ayade, the money known as the “Budget of Quantum Infinitum” was intended for the people; as well as for the completion and commissioning of all his initiatives over the previous seven years.
According to him, the recurring expenses would include paying wages, bonuses, and pensions; in addition to mitigating the impacts of hardship and poverty in the state.
