Flooding: FG to Send Delegation to Cameroon as Affected Nigerians Rise to 2.5 million

The terrible flooding that has harmed more than 2. 5 million people in Benue, Kogi, Anambra, and other states as a result of rains and the release of water from the Lagdo Dam in Cameroon, according to the Nigerian government.

In light of this situation, the Nigerian government has decided to send a mission to Cameroon; to start bilateral talks with the Cameroonian government about the Lagdo Dam’s recurring opening.

The minister continued by stating that up to the end of November, states like Anambra, Delta, Cross River, Rivers, and Bayelsa are still at risk of experiencing flooding.

The Minister further stated that although there was sufficient forewarning and information; regarding the flood of 2022, States, Local Governments, and Communities did not appear to pay attention.
