According to papers made available by the committee, the former president’s company, The Trump Organisation, charged the nation’s secret service $1,185 per night for hotel rooms used by his security detail.

Rates peaked at $1.4 million from 2017 and 2021, when Mr. Trump served as president. President Trump’s ex-son, Eric Trump, said in 2019 that government agents were paid $50 per night each time his father stayed at the hotel.
