Due to a demand for green energy, the majority of refineries supplying Premium Motor Spirit to Nigeria are ceasing operations. The majority of its refineries’ decision to halt production has alarmed the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) estimates that 66.7 million liters of gasoline are consumed daily in the nation; which is less than the 98 million liters that some sources indicate.
NNPC’s Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari, revealed this during an investigation by the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) needs only N3. 4 trillion to subsidise an average of 66. 7 million litres of petrol consumed daily, not the N4 trillion approved in the 2022 Appropriation Act.
