The second quarter of 2022 saw an increase in Nigeria’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth from the first quarter; which was 3.11% to the second quarter, as measured in real terms.
Nigeria’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the second quarter of 2022 was 18.44% higher due to information and communications technology (ICT). It contributed 17.92% during the same quarter the year before. Which was higher than its contribution this quarter, and 16.20% during the quarter before that.
The ICT sector experienced year-over-year growth of 6.55% over the review period. There was a 0.99% point increase from the rate noted in the similar period of 2021.
