A Moscow court has fined Google $360 Million for failing to remove content concerning Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine.

Russia’s state media watchdog Roskomnadzor said that the video-sharing platform YouTube had repeatedly not removed “prohibited” videos.

This included content seen as “fake news” about the war in Ukraine that discredited the Russian military.

YouTube was also accused of failing to remove videos that promoted “extremism” and called on youths to take part in “unauthorized mass actions”.
