According to the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund,N306,554,896 was reimburse out over the previous four months; as claims and compensations to its registered employers, employees and their dependents.
The compensations covered Medical Expenses Refund, Loss of Productivity, Disability Benefits to injured employees. Also, death benefits to next-of-kin of deceased employees and retirement benefits to disabled employees.
During an interactive session with labor journalists in Abuja, the NSITF Managing Director, Michael Akabogu, reveal that all of the fund’s operational functions are in the process of being automate using its “e-NSITF” platform.
