The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board has begun activities to develop an oil and gas industrial park in Ondo State under its Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme.
The board’s representatives visited the Ilaje site with officials of the Ondo State Government to assess the location according to a statement obtained on Wednesday. The NOGaPS scheme was initiated by the NCDMB to create low-cost manufacturing hubs that would produce equipment and spare parts useful for the oil and gas industry.
The Governor of Ondo State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, appreciated the efforts of the board and for selecting the state as part of its development plan.
The governor promised to provide full support for the timely realisation of the project in the state.
The statement said, “Two of the industrial parks in Emeyal 1, Bayelsa State and Odukpani, Cross Rivers State, are at an advanced level of construction and are scheduled for commissioning before the end of 2022.”
It added that the NCDMB was also developing the oil and gas park project in Oguta in Imo State, Ikwe, Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and in Delta State and they are in different stages of development.
