Rolls-Royce is to appoint a finance director with no experience of a top job at a publicly-listed company.
The lossmaking, heavily indebted engine maker has hired Panos Kakoullis, who left Deloitte a little over a year ago after being passed over for the top job at the accountancy giant.
Kakoullis, 53, had been head of audit at Deloitte. His assignments included being the lead auditor of Tesco when the firm won the contract after the sacking of PwC after the supermarket group’s accounting scandal.
