Lagos State Bans Public Gatherings Of More Than 20 Persons

Lagos State Government on Saturday announced a reduction in the number of people allowed in public gatherings to prevent further spread of coronavirus.

The government said the number of people allowed at any public gathering should not be more than 20, 30 less than the previous limit of 50, which includes churches and mosques.

Lagos State had also ordered a temporary closure of schools for a monthto safeguard lives of school children.

Nigeria has so far confirmed 20 index cases of the virus as at Saturday, March 21.

Lagos has 16 of the 22 cases while three cases have also been confirmed in Abuja, Ekiti has one case while two have been announced in Ogun State.

The state also confirmed that the first and second index cases are now negative after treatment.
