Reps condemn prepaid cable subscription, calls for ‘pay per view’ subscription plan

The Nigerian House of Representatives has said it would investigate satellite cable television service providers in Nigeria for refusing to adopt ‘pay per view’ subscription plan.

Members of the house criticised Digital Satellite Television, a South Africa-based company owned by MultiChoice, for refusing to heed the call for introduce ‘pay per view’ subscription model.

The House also resolved to set up an ad hoc committee to look into the matter.

Consequently, a motion, moved by My Unyime, titled ‘Call on MultiChoice Digital Satellite Television (DSTV) and Other Service Providers to Introduce the Pay as You Go Tariff (PAYG) Plan.
